Ammi’s Kitchen Comes to Bombay Bustle This Ramadan
This Ramadan, we open our doors to the culinary traditions of a family from Rampur, a historic princely town in Uttar Pradesh known for its refined and deeply rooted food culture. At Bombay Bustle, we honour heirloom recipes shaped in family kitchens and carried through generations, now finding a new home at our Maddox Street restaurant in Mayfair.
At the heart of this celebration is Ammi’s Kitchen, a soon-to-be-released cookbook by fashion entrepreneur Pernia Qureshi who shares the recipes and memories of her grandmother, Mussharaf-ul-Nissa Begum. Her cooking blended the flavours of Rampur with influences from Chaundasi, her hometown. Preserved through instinct and storytelling, these recipes have travelled from Rampur to Mumbai, and now to central London.
The Ramadan Feast Continues
Available from 17th February, the beginning of Ramadan, the Ammi’s Kitchen feasting menu begins with fruit chaat, dates and rose sherbet, followed by Kathal Kebab with ginger and coriander chutney and Mutton Seekh Kebab.
The feast continues with options in mains like Chicken Kali Mirch, or Pernia’s favourite Yakhni Pulao, lamb slow-cooked in spicy meant broth. The menu concludes with Phirni, a sweet rice pudding with green cardamom, almonds and pistachios.
Available throughout Ramadan at £58 per person, Ammi’s Kitchen at Bombay Bustle is an invitation to gather & experience a culinary heritage passed down through generations.
